Felony Charges for Video Taping G8 NATO Protests

Although there are some legislators trying to change the law in time for the protests in May, there is a law in Illinois that says audio recording police is a felony. Unless this law is changed before May which is very unlikely, anyone with a video camera that doesn’t work for one of the big networks is likely to be arrested and charged.

If you live in Illinois please contact your reps and tell them you want something done about this, The Media still fully intends on documenting these protests….I would just prefer not to get a felony on my record because of it.

Thanks again,
